STOP CAP & TRADE OR DEMS RISK AN EVEN GREATER SLAUGHTER IN 2010. With the looming spectre of a 2010 Democrat massacre at the ballot box, so-called moderate Senate Democrats are begging Barack Obama and the White House to stop pushing such unpopular pieces of legislation like Cap & Trade. However, Obama does no... (more)

Criticism for the Obama Administration's economic agenda is hitting very close to home. Martin Feldstein, an advisor to the President on economic issues and Harvard University professor has become openly critical of the President's health care agenda. In a recent article in the Wall Street Journal (aptly titled "ObamaCare's Crippling Deficits"), Feldstein states that "the higher taxes, debt payments and interest rates needed to pay for health reform mean lower living standards." ht Instapundit "Senate leadership made a wise decision to drop plans to expand Medicare eligibility. We also applaud the Senate for not pursuing a Medicare‐like, price controlled public option. As we've said, we must build health care reform upon what's working… not on a failing Medicare system." (more)

A year ago, Wynn Netherland and I were having a hard time finding our elected officials on Twitter. We figured it was a problem that other people were having as well. Wynn and I created TweetCongress, a simple Twitter list of everyone in the 111th Congress that tweets (it also lists those that don’t tweet). Within a year, TweetCongress grew from 24 members of Congress using Twitter to over 160 Congressional tweeters. (more)

ia the Chamber of Commerce comes this just-released memo from the CBO pointing out that savings from Medicare cuts in the Senate health care bill have essentially been double counted: The key point is that the savings to the HI trust fund under the PPACA would be received by the government only once, so they cannot be set aside to pay for future Medicare spending and, at the same time, pay for current spending on other parts of the legislation or on other programs.
