Here is video of Democratic New Jersey Rep Rob Andrews taking a cheap shot at Fox News while on Fox News. Andrews asked "could we have just a minute of fair and balance just as an exception here?" Fox News anchor Gregg Jarrett then pointed out that he had just asked a "very tough question" to Republican Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn earlier in the segment. The new consumer agency proposed in financial regulatory reform could be a big win for an American middle class pummeled by the financial crisis. Yet proponents risk the resentment of the very middle-class Americans they want to help. By largely framing the debate as one of industry versus government, supporters of a consumer financial protection agency run the risk of sidelining consumers instead of engaging them and, moreover, enlarging the controversy over government’s size and scope.
