MSNBC and CNBC contributor — and professed Charlie Crist admirer — Donny Deutsch used racially charged language on Monday night, smearing Republican senatorial candidate Marco Rubio as a “coconut.” Deutsch appeared on HLN’s Joy Behar Show and used the word, which both the New York Times and Urban Dictionary define as a “person who is tan on the outside” and “white on the inside.” Rubio is the son of Cuban exiles. Recall at the kick off of the Tea Party Movement back in April of 2009 one Janeane Garofalo rhetorically asked "If this is NOT about protesting against a BLACK PRESIDENT - why weren't they protesting against BUSH's spending?  Hummmm?".  In her infinite wisdom she believed that she had a "Gotcha moment". The Palin saga continues as it now appears that Levi Johnston might be fibbing about his yearly income in an effort to avoid shelling out dough to Bristol Palin, Sarah Palin’s daughter. TMZ reports: The lawyer for Sarah Palin’s kid is scoffing at legal docs filed by Levi’s lawyer — docs claiming Levi made but a pittance over the last few years and should not have to pay $1,688.42 a month in child support – which is what Bristol wants. Anyone who recalls Lawrence O’Donnell’s meltdown with John O’Neill over the latter’s opposition to John Kerry in 2004 won’t be surprised at O’Donnell’s inability to behave himself with Marc Thiessen on today’s Morning Joe. Earlier today, MS-NBC and Time Magazine tried to argue that the massive amounts of snow hitting the mid-Atlantic region somehow proves anthropogenic global-warming (AGW) theory, but it wasn’t that long ago that Democrats in Congress blamed AGW for the relative lack of snowfall in the same region, as well as in Minnesota. RIGHT ON— On Sunday the left went bonkers after they discovered that the TelePrompter-less former Governor Sarah Palin wrote notes on the palm of her left hand for her speech to the National Tea Party Convention in Nashville. The far left absolutely freaked over this non-issue rather than focus on her brilliant speech knocking the Obama Administration’s horrid record on economics and national defense. (more)

When The New York Times broke open the story of NSA monitoring of overseas phone calls to terrorist cells at the end of 2005, Newsweek’s Jonathan Alter proclaimed "We’re seeing clearly now that Bush thought 9/11 gave him license to act like a dictator, or in his own mind, no doubt, like Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War."
